p-Toluenethiol is used as a pharmaceutical intermediate. Used in organic synthesis, used in the synthesis of dyes, pharmaceuticals, etc.
p-Toluenethiol is used as a reactant in the preparation of sulfides by palladium-catalyzed coupling with aryl halides or sulfonates in presence of Josiphos ligand.
